Zamboanga Fund For Little Kids and Pens of Hope Foundation
In Talon-Talon Elementary School in the town of Layag-Layag, children have to cross shallow water every day in order to get to school. During high tide, the kids have to swim across. Surely the children need a form of transportation or a decent bridge so they can continue their education without the risk of getting sick or being carried away by the water.
A group of bloggers has started an initiative to raise funds for the students of Talon-Talon. Jay Jaboneta and friends started Zamboanga Fund For Little Kids, fund-raising drive to pool money in order to build a boat which can transport the students. The boat will be named Bagong Pag-Asa, befitting the name of the dreams of Layag-Layag.
