Unboxing my new Smart Netphone 701
I finally have the Smart Netphone 701 many of you have talked about in social media and blogs. I used to own the Smart Amazing Phone which was pretty okay back then. Technology has leaped forward and now Smart has its Netphone which promises to be a great device for posting on a subscriber’s social media accounts.
I unbox my newest toy without further ado.

I do not know much about rugby. It looks a lot like American football but more physical. When I see it on the telly while channel-surfing, I change the channel at once because I find the sport so violent. The infamous Philippine Volcanoes billboards which has now been removed (Thanks for nothing, Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian!) made me aware that we have our own team. Those guys are H-O-T! When I was invited to a Philippine Volcanoes event care of Globe, I just had to be there.

Read MoreHow To Report Animal Cruelty
I got the following from the PAWS website and thought I’d share with everyone who reads my blog. Animal cruelty is so common in our country, sad but true. We can’t really rely on the government to help stop this since they have other more pressing problems to attend to. I think if we police ourselves and our neighbors when it comes to horrible treatment of animals, incidents of animal cruelty will lessen.
If you see animal cruelty in progress (such as persons in the act of a ‘dog katay’ or selling and buying dogs for the dog meat trade, or inflicting harm to animals), please report the incident immediately to your barangay officials and/or to 117. PAWS needs citizens like yourself (witnesses) to be taking steps in filing charges so that we can prevent this cruelty from happening again.
In order to prosecute criminals for the violation of the Animal Welfare Act, PAWS needs the complete details (date, time, exact location, people involved). If you are not willing to execute an affidavit, please recommend another eyewitness who will.

Read MoreThe initial guidelines for bloggers holding contests
I attended the bloggers meeting with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on bloggers holding online contests. I was an hour late because of the terrible traffic but I got to hear the question and answer part of the meeting. So here are the rules I gathered. These are just temporary until DTI, with the help of select bloggers, comes up with a final (?) list 3 to 6 months from now.
- Personal and Professional Bloggers (probloggers) are exempt from DTI if the annual sum of the value of prize/s which they personally spent for is less than P1 Million.
- Personal and probloggers are exempt from DTI if the annual sum of value of prize/s which are from sponsors is less than P200,000 provided that sponsor isn’t a big company.
- Bloggers are the ones responsible in securing permits whether sponsored or non-sponsored contests.
- Once a purchase is needed in a contest, a permit is a must whether the value is less than P200,000.
- DTI will rely on the honor system of bloggers to patrol the online community. Those caught without necessary permits penalized.
Review: Cocoon Firefox add-on
Cocoon is a Firefox Browser add-on which protects you from virus from web sites and offers secure web experience. I downloaded it after reading it from one of those tech blogs (sorry I forgot which one) and decided to try it two days ago but then it messed up my current open tabs. Now that I closed all those open tabs (I was able to retrieve them), I decided to give it another try.
