As I looked through my photos, 2015 has been a very good year for me. It wasn’t until November when circumstances started to go downhill. So like a yearly tradition, my blogger friends and I write a year-ender post to reminisce the year that just left us.
Cat Cafe Manila
2015 started with me having partnered with some cat lovers to form Cat Cafe Manila. Things were going well but like other businesses, cracks appear after awhile after irreconcilable differences with one of the owners. This was also during the time that the stress from the cafe took a toll on me and I fell down the stairs and had to have surgery. I’m still in good terms with one of the owners and he said I’m still welcome to visit but I don’t. It’s too painful especially because I miss the cats.
HOHOL with the girls
I got a great Deal Grocer deal so my gal pals and I went to this nice place in Tagaytay during a really cold day. We had a blast. The food was good and so was the company. I wish we could do this again this year.
Vacation with the cousins in Hong Kong
I want to make it a yearly tradition that the Wenceslao cousins travel abroad for a short fun trip. Well it was my sister who came up with the idea and it was super fun. We went to places that we never did before because there were adults. Maybe Thailand this year and then we visit Phat Phong?
For awhile, D-List celebrity Mystica offered photoshop services and I couldn’t help myself and hired her to do mine. I’ve never posted them in my blog but it was a riot in Facebook and Mystica and I became somehow close for a while. Here are the stunning photos of my Mystical Transformation.
Europe Take Two
We didn’t think we’ll ever return to Europe but we did and it was still full of wonders. The cities we visited were Santorini, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Paris, Nice, Zurich, and Amsterdam. It was unusually hot for spring and we hardly got to wear our thick coats, not even in Switzerland where it was sweltering. We only got a bit of cold on our last leg which was Amsterdam.
I sure do wish to return to Europe again. I don’t want to go to the US anymore! Europe is so much more interesting.
My First Time at O Bar
I wanted to go to O Bar, the gay bar in Ortigas. Good thing Vanessa, Tobie and Rocky took me along. I had so much fun. I was supposed to go back more often but I never did. Hmmm. That should be remedied.
I became an addict of Ooma since it opened in the middle of the year I think. For months, I would go there alone or sometimes with family or friends. I can’t get enough of their Soft Shell Crab Takomaki. We’ve been there so often, the staff knows us already.
I used to hate Megamall with a passion but now it has become my favorite mall. My favorite restaurants are there, there are more selections when it comes to stores, and as their slogan says, “We’ve got it all for you.”
I became obsessed with teas and china for awhile. I bought a couple of nice tea sets and boxes of tea. My girl friends and I even joined Fancy Feast’s Tea Party contest. Unfortunately we didn’t win.
Fancy Feast and Me
I was envious of those who got invited to Fancy Feast’s Crafternoon so I campaigned in social media to be invited. Miraculously it worked because I got an invite to bring my cats to a Crafternoon. I could only bring Boris since he’s the most sociable cat I have. It was a delightful experience for me but tiring for Boris.
Arts and Crafts
2015 was also the year I really got into arts and crafts. It started because I kept on browsing Instagram and became inspired by some of the crafters there. I started with calligraphy which I’ve almost forgotten by now. Bah. Then I got into watercolors. I will get back into watercolors this year but my other crafts are occupying my attention lately.
I also joined workshops by Anagutch. Soapmaking, balm-making, perfumery, etc. The workshops are expensive but worth it since I just gave soaps to all my relatives and some friends for Christmas. I will turn my new knowledge into business this 2016. In fact, it has already started but I’ll write about it when it’s more stable.
I’m pretty much a regular now at Dyce N’ Dyne, a boardgame place very near our village. I met wonderful people through Jovan and we regularly go there to play or watercolor. I love my new friends and I’m glad they welcomed me with open arms.
Halloween is my Christmas
I went all out this Halloween with my costume, a Victorian mourning gown. Last year’s celebration was more fun because there were more people out and about. Still, I think it was fun and Halloween will always be my favorite time of the year.
My sad birthday
We were supposed to celebrate my birthday in Bangkok but flights were cancelled because it was during their lantern festival. I became very depressed because I was supposed to buy supplies for my business. I wasn’t able to make plans with friends except for a few…and I cancelled some plans with certain groups because some of them just never understand depression and just kept telling me to cheer up. Thankfully some of my gaming and geek friends were available for a gaming party in my condo. Not much photos were taken that night though.
As you well know, the traffic last December was the worst we ever had. I only went out of the house for errands and doctors’ appointments. Instead of spending December with friends, we’re either stuck at home, in traffic, or in the office. Christmas Eve was quite fun for our small clan because our house is small and everyone gets to interact with each other easier. Unfortunately, I started feeling unwell that day and it became a full blown cough and colds by our Hong Trip. We were supposed to spend our New Year in Hong Kong but because I was sick, we had to postpone it. I spent Christmas day up to now, actually, recuperating. I feel better physically but I’m an emotional mess. It’s not because of the Hong Kong trip. It’s something I cannot really discuss here. It was so bad yesterday that I had to sleep off all of the emotions that was eating me up. I woke up at 8:30 PM and felt better. Thank goodness for aromatherapy, sleeping pills and Xanax. At least I welcomed the New Year in a much better and saner mood.
Well that’s how my 2015 went. Not so bad except for the latter part of the year. Lest you think I’m whining, I’m not. I’m very thankful for a very good year and I still have hope that 2016 will be another good one for me. I hope you’ll have a good 2016 too. Happy New Year!
